Floor Works to Commence at Green Lanes Shopping Centre
Green Lanes Shopping Centre is pleased to announce that floor replacement works will commence on Monday 20th January 2025, as part of our ongoing commitment to maintaining a safe, modern, and welcoming environment for our valued shoppers and tenants.
The project, which is scheduled to run until the end of April 2025, will focus on improving both the safety and aesthetic appeal of key areas throughout the centre. These repairs will ensure that Green Lanes continues to provide an enjoyable and high-quality shopping experience for all visitors.
We are working closely with our contractors to minimise disruption to tenants, shops, and customers throughout this period. Careful planning has been undertaken to ensure that stores will remain accessible and that customers can continue to shop, dine, and enjoy their time at Green Lanes with ease.
Centre management appreciates the patience and understanding of our visitors while these improvements are carried out. This investment in Green Lanes reflects our dedication to creating a vibrant, attractive, and safe shopping environment for the local community.
We look forward to unveiling the enhanced space in the coming months and thank our shoppers, tenants, and staff for their ongoing support during this time of improvement.
North Devon Council's New Town Centre Hub
Green Lanes Welcomes North Devon Council's New Town Centre Hub
We’re proud to announce the official opening of North Devon Council’s new Town Centre Customer Service Hub right here at Green Lanes Shopping Centre in Barnstaple. Opened on Monday 16 June, the hub brings an expanded, face-to-face support service for our local community, enhancing the town centre’s role as a hub for public access and connection.
To mark this important milestone, we were delighted to host a ribbon-cutting ceremony attended by Councillor Helen Walker, Chair of North Devon Council, and Deputy Leader, Councillor Peter Leaver, alongside those who have worked hard to bring this project to life.
Replacing the council’s former Lynton House desk, the hub is now open Monday to Friday, 9am–5pm, and offers a welcoming, accessible space for anyone needing in-person support from council services.
The fit-out, designed by RGP Architects and completed by Grills Renovations and Refurbishments, has transformed a previously unoccupied unit into a modern, multi-functional facility. The space includes private interview rooms, consultation booths, and meeting rooms that are also available for use by external agencies.
We’re especially pleased to welcome Devon and Cornwall Police to the space, who will maintain a regular presence, offering visitors an additional point of community support right in the heart of town.
"As Centre Manager, I’m thrilled to see this previously vacant unit brought back to life in such a meaningful way. The hub is a fantastic addition to Green Lanes, not only providing valuable public services but also increasing footfall and vibrancy in the centre. It’s a strong example of how public and commercial spaces can work together for the benefit of the wider community."
The hub also opens opportunities for partnership use, with rooms available for hire by local organisations. If you’re an agency looking for a central, accessible space to meet or deliver services, I encourage you to get in touch and see what’s available.

We’re proud to support this important step forward for Barnstaple, and we look forward to welcoming you into the hub soon.
